Management Occupations drive renewable energy-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 14%, emerged as the top renewable energy-related job roles within the power industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 23% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 11% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent renewable energy roles include Computer and Mathematical Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in power industry accounted for 31% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were RWE, NextEra Energy, Siemens, Sunrun, and Engie. Together they accounted for a combined share of 31% of all renewable energy-related new jobs in the power industry.
RWE posted 1,006 renewable energy-related new jobs in Q3 2023, NextEra Energy 985 jobs, Siemens 915 jobs, Sunrun 838 jobs, and Engie 805 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 50.82% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of renewable energy-related new job postings in the power industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 50.82% followed by Germany (9.26%) and the UK (9.04%). The share represented by the US was four percentage points lower than the 55.01% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
