Notably, Computer and Information Systems Managers jobs accounted for a 4% share of the global power industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q3 2022, up 38% over the prior quarter.

Computer and Information Systems Managers drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Computer and Information Systems Managers, with a share of 4%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the power industry in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 38% quarter-on-quarter. General and Operations Managers came in second with a share of 2% in Q3 2022, with new job postings rising by 35% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Occupational Health and Safety Specialists and Technicians with a 2% share in Q3 2022, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a 2% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in power industry accounted for 47% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2022 were Siemens, Amentum Services, Water and Westwood Professional Services. Together they accounted for a combined share of 47% of all social responsibility-related active jobs in the power industry.

Siemens posted 903 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q3 2022, Amentum Services 647 jobs, Water 605 jobs, and Westwood Professional Services 575 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 68% share of total active job postings, Q3 2022

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the power industry in Q3 2022 was in the US with 68% followed by the UK (9%) and Canada (5%). The share represented by the US was three percentage points lower than the 71% share it accounted for in Q2 2022.
